Very large, 27" pair antique Meissen porcelain Gardener companion figures, Gentleman and Lady.
Significantly larger than most Meissen figures, I have only seen one other pair this large in the last 30 years.
These are very rare, fine and detailed - see photos.
Both figures are standing on a naturalistic base with the blue crossed sword mark with dot underglaze.
(1) Gardener, polychrome model with depiction of a man wearing a striped waistcoat, floral-pattern breeches, and buttonup high top spats, posed with a chapeau melon hat between his feet, a bouquet of flowers in his left hand.
27"h, x 11"w, x 7"d; on a 9" base.
(1) Girl Gardener, polychrome model with depiction of a woman wearing a gathered dress and corset laced with blue ribbon, dual strand coral necklace, blue head scarf and red shoes with yellow flowers.
27"h, x 10-1/2"w, x 7"d; on a on an 8-1/2" base.
In very good condition.
Only flaws I can see is a small bouquet of flowers is missing from man's hand and his base has a crack, yet still very solid.
On the Lady there are a few small chips to the flowers on the base and bouquet.
Also a small chip on her left sleeve.
For their age and fragile design they are still very nice.
Possibly trade for or towards vintage American guitar(s) or SUV / pickup, ??.
