Well established DSD wholesale distributor, serving the convenience stores, grocery stores and gas stations for over 16 years is looking for a proactive INDEPENDENT ROUTE SALES ASSOCIATE to help us expand our business in ORLANDO-TAMPA-LAKELAND by opening new accounts and servicing our current 250 accounts on the area.
This is a (1099) position.
You will be responsible for your own taxes.
General Summary
Safely drives step-van delivery truck (may be manual) over any assigned route to sell, deliver, and merchandise products (cellular phones accessories, snacks, candies and novelties), as well as provide excellent customer service to a variety of grocery, mass merchandise, and independent chain stores.
Route begins at 7:30 a.
m.
, varies between averages of 50-90 miles a day.
The workweek will usually consist of 5 days, 40-50 hours, Monday to Friday; the workweek may be extended new route sales associated limited experience.
Travel may would include overnight stays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Sell, deliver, refill, service, stock and merchandise company products to gas stations, grocery retail and independent chain stores.
Progressively increase current customer sales volume.
This includes and is not limited to:
Building relationships with key decision makers
Providing excellent customer Service
Inquiring about customer needs
Communicating product knowledge and suggestive selling
Increase customer base by soliciting new accounts
Execute company promotional programs.
Rotate and provide credit to accounts for stale or not selling or damaged items
Process orders by entering/scanning product codes into hand-held computers.
Printing invoices on the field
Collect cash and checks from customers and accurately process associated invoices and paperwork.
Deposit all money collection on the bank
Manage daily accuracy of product inventory.
Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspection.
This includes and is not limited to headlights, brake lights, turn signals, and fluids, including proper engine oil levels.
Maintain a clean and organized truck.
Sweep and wipe to clean truck interior; wash windows and mirrors; and dispose of trash boxes daily.
Required Skills
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Sales experience.
Two (2) years experience in business or industry interacting with customers.
Preferred Gas stations or C Stores
DSD experience preferred
Outgoing and success driven personality
Have a positive attitude towards work, good communication skills in front of customers and the ability to function well in a team environment.
Must be very professional and courteous
Hold very strong work ethic
Must have the ability to work independently
In order to drive company cargo van, must have a valid Florida driver license and clean driving record required
Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Able to read, write, understand and speak English.
Possess a stable work history with good references.
Display evidence of sound judgment and have the ability to adapt quickly to different work and driving conditions.
Possess strong communication, persuasion, and organizational skills.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively.
Able to pass a criminal background check.
You will also be required to pass a drug test.
Uniforms and well-groomed appearance are required.

Constantly reaching; frequently sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, driving and lifting up to 32 pounds
Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 48 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds
