So, we ask, where will your journey take you? SUMMARY OF POSITION The Server is responsible for performing all tasks related to food and beverage service in a courteous and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area in accordance with company standards and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; remains attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the restaurant at all times.
Provides professional, competent, and prompt service to guests.
Provides information about products and looks for opportunities to "up-sell" products.
Collects payments and operates cash registers following company established cash handling policies and procedures for all transactions and secures all currency at the end of each shift.
Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
Complete safety training and certifications.
Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed.
Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
Check station assigned to you prior to opening for cleanliness of tables, chairs, and floor proper set-up of salt and pepper, table maintenance, sugar caddies, decoration, etc.
Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
The daily duties include STEPS OF SERVICE GUIDELINES, describing the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting and vivid descriptions of the each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicating guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using the restaurants point-of-sales system; and coordinating food timings to ensure dishes are accurately and efficiently served to the guest.
Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to our customers in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner using suggestive selling techniques.
Describes all menu items prices and methods of preparation.
Have knowledge of all liquor, beers and non-alcoholic selections.
Know the correct glassware and garnish of each drink.
Communicates and works closely with kitchen staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
Anticipates guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards and guest relations and etiquette.
Speak and write fluently in English & Spanish.
Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
The ability to carry large, heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under pressure.
Enjoys a fast pace, dynamic, challenging and team-oriented work environment.
Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Strong guest service skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong writing, reading, listening and speaking communications skills.
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
Must have previous serving experience.
Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills Must be able to obtain any required food handing or alcohol serving certifications required by local or state agencies.
Must be able to relate to all levels of Guests and management.
Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
Food Safety Employee Training required.
Maintain complete knowledge of table, seat, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up of the restaurant.
Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) required.
Alcohol Awareness "ServSafe".
Successfully pass the Server Certification exam.
