is looking for a Production Operations Supervisor to join our team! Founded more than 40 years ago in Orlando, Florida, Barnies Coffee &Tea Company pioneered the elevated coffee experience with flavorful, carefully crafted, roasts and blends along with its immensely popular flavored coffees.

Barnies operates a unique flagship café on historic Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida and has licensed cafes at the Orlando International Airport Terminal C, the Hitt Library at the 80,000 student University of Central, Stetson University and the Orlando Science Center.

*Production Operations Supervisor * *About the Opportunity* We are looking for a specialty coffee enthusiast who is interested in working as a supervising coordinator of a dynamic, fast-paced, specialty coffee production, shipping & receiving, and warehouse team.
The ideal candidate is dependable, hard-working, detail-oriented, open-minded, intuitive, and able to confidently work with and supervise others.
This position is a growth position and we intend to invest in the right individual.
This individual will report to our Director of Operations and work closely with our CEO, Multimedia manager and finance team to learn all aspects of our business.
Plant operations may grow significantly in the future with our Director of Operations taking on additional responsibilities.
Candidate will ultimately manage a number of production and admin staff.
*Job Duties* * Daily production coffee roasting and supervision.
Follow set protocols and assist with roast profile development to ensure consistent coffee roasting.
Supervise all aspects of coffee roasting.
Production scheduling, sample roasting, mechanical troubleshooting, inventory monitoring and adjustment.
* Serve as a supervisor of GMP and Food Safety Plan.
Maintain standards, monitor, and update plan as needed.
Maintain lot tracking and dating requirements.
* Daily fulfillment of specialty coffee orders.
Supervise, coordinate, and assist production team to ensure efficient work flow for labeling, blending, grinding, flavoring, brewing, and packaging of specialty coffees and cold brew to complete customer orders within or ahead of guaranteed lead times.
* Lead quality control program.
Effectively taste and describe coffee.
Schedule, set up and break down cuppings, log and maintain data.
Adjust roasting profiles as needed.
Includes decaf and flavored coffee evaluations.
* Operate, maintain and trouble shoot, serve as lead trainer, and point person for various types of coffee packaging equipment including direct heat sealers, weigh/fill and form/fill/seal machines.
* Accountability includes monitoring of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inventory tracking of green and roasted coffees, flavorings, and packaging supplies.
* Schedule and perform routine maintenance of coffee roasting, grinding, packaging, and brewing equipment.
* Lead and supervise team members in daily cleaning and sanitation-of-roasting-and packaging equipment and work areas to comply with GMP and Food Safety Plan.
* Represent the company at various customer and industry focused public events.
* Supervise, coordinate, and assist with S&R workflow to best manage order lead-times, inventory constraints and receipt and stocking of inbound inventory.
* Accurately enter data into various shipping software applications as well as inventory management software.
Quote, schedule freight, and create BOL's for LTL shipments.
* Safely operate a walk-behind, straddle-stacker style forklift and manual pallet jacks to arrange, load, and unload freight.
Serve as lead forklift trainer and inspector.
* Organize products according to movement volume and monitor best-by dating.
Conduct regular cycle-count as well as quarterly and end-of-year inventory counts.
* Monitor and coordinate with inventory controller to reorder packaging supplies.
* Serve as department and company safety coordinator.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to the Food Safety Plan, and company safety policies.
Update safety policies and conduct reviews.
* Accountability includes various building maintenance and common area duties as well as flexibility to assist in other departments and with other duties as needed.
*Physical Requirements* * _Heavy lifting and repetitive motions.
_Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, unassisted and repetitively during a normal daily shift.

_Position requires long periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces.

Ability to ascend and descend safely while balancing a load.

_Ability to bend at the waist, repeatedly, to retrieve scoops of coffee and other supplies.

_Ability to distinguish various mechanical sounds and receive verbal information in a moderately noisy environment.
* _Speaking.
_Ability to verbally communicate and relay information in a moderately noisy environment.
* _Vision.
_Ability to distinguish between color shades of roasted coffee.
Acuity to operate machinery, forklifts, and hand tools.
* _Attention span.
_Ability to pay close attention to multiple tasks at detail level for extended durations.
*Experience/Education* * College Degree * 2+ years of coffee roasting or other coffee or beverage industry experience.
* Basic math skills.
Percentages and conversions of various measurement units.
* Computer skills.
Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and basic computer navigation.
(Experience with FedEx Ship Station, and MS Access preferred) * Mechanical aptitude.
Basic understanding of mechanical controls, wiring diagrams, and ability to use multimeters and other tools to diagnose and repair production machinery.
