This duty includes specific scheduled tasks, as well as those which respond to immediate needs, in order to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the community, as prescribed by established standards.
Housekeepers assist residents to ensure their environment is clean and clutter-free for their safety and comfort.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains cleanliness of resident apartments as well as ancillary areas assigned by the department supervisor and/or Executive Director.
Assists in reminding residents of Activities.
Alerts other staff of changes in a resident’s condition.
Follows directions of supervisor which must meet specific standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Must be able to work quickly to follow schedule.
May be asked to assist in moving heavy cleaning equipment, furniture and supplies.
Willing to help out in any emergency and provide a variety of support services as needed.
Determines resident’s needs and addresses the needs.
Refers medical needs to nursing or caregiver staff.
Cleans each apartment in 30 minutes or less as assigned and set forth on the Housekeeper Schedule each day.
Tasks may include but not limited to: empty all wastebaskets, dust all surfaces, clean bathroom, changes linen and make bed.
Vacuums/mops flooring and arranges furniture.
For those with laundry service, wash linen, mop kitchen and bathroom floor with disinfectant ensuring all urine and food spills are cleaned up.
Keeps laundry room neat and clean, including behind machines; one housekeeper is assigned to clean and dust laundry room daily (rotate).
Empties lint traps, and reports any mechanical problems to supervisor.
Cleans all community common areas, laundry rooms, and courtyard/porch seating areas.
Wipes off fingerprints from doors and door frames.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident, team member, residence, company information and records.
Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.

Complies with the cell phone and social media policies.
Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire per dress code.
Participates in training, in services and attends meetings when required.
Assists with special projects as assigned and performs other related duties QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma is preferred, but not required.
Must be experienced and familiar with housekeeping and laundry procedures.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must carry and maintain current first aide certificate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position requires the ability to stand, reach, bend/stoop/crouch, push/pull/lift/carry up to 50lbs, twisting/ turning and repetitive motion PHYSICAL ABILITIES Must have good vision, hearing and speech WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily works in the Community.
