The Opportunity: Join our dynamic housekeeping team committed to maintaining the safety, functionality, cleanliness, efficiency, and attractiveness of the Lake Nona Cancer Center.
As a Custodial Specialist I, you will be integral to our team, ensuring cleanliness to standard in assigned areas, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to various cleaning projects throughout the year.
This role requires basic custodial knowledge, encompassing hard floor care, carpet care, and sanitation practices.
Responsibilities: Clean and stock restrooms and common areas according to standards, including sinks, showers, toilets, stalls, and mirrors.
Perform surface cleaning, including dusting, wiping, and scrubbing of furniture, walls, equipment, and kitchen appliances.
Vacuum carpet areas, sweep, dry/wet mop floors, stairwells, entries, and conduct waste removal.
Shampoo/extract carpeted areas and/or upholstery; refinish flooring through stripping, waxing, and buffing.
Windows/entry cleaning and assistance with inventory control and security.
Adherence to university, local, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and policies.
Keep time and job records using electronic CMMS equipment and participate in required safety classes.
Collaborate with other campus departments and report any deficiencies promptly.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of 9th grade.
Preferred Qualifications: Flexibility for urgent trade requirements and ability to operate small and/or large equipment.
Proficiency in using tools for carpet and hard floor care tasks.
Understanding and application of safety for EH&S approved chemicals.
Effective communication in conversational English with team members and customers.
Proficient in operating essential tools and equipment.
Adaptability in assignments and demonstration of interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
Capability to use standard office software applications for the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS).
Health Assessment Required: UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
Additional Application Materials Required: Two (2) professional references from current or previous supervisor/manager.
Special Instructions to the Applicants: This position is eligible for 5% Shift Differential Pay of the pay range minimum.
Position requires a valid driver’s license.
The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
