The Housekeeper cleans all areas of the center by performing routine cleaning of patient rooms, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, restrooms, and corridors.
They demonstrate the ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the sterility, sanitation, and environmental safety of patient rooms, work areas, hallways, and offices.
Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions, and isolation precautions.
Regularly inspect property to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Periodically clean and service all restrooms.
Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairways as needed.
Daily cleaning and maintenance of building entrance and work areas.
Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures and using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Dust and clean items such as blinds, furniture, file cabinets and windowsills using cleaning items.
Use appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds to polish furniture, metalwork, and chrome.
Maintain and replenish inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies.
Document completed tasks on maintenance log.
Compose a physical list of needed supplies and share with supervisor.
Prepare and refill coffee in the mornings and throughout the day and ensure cups, cream, sugar, etc.
for patients are stocked.
Maintain maintenance records as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Education / Licenses
High school graduate or equivalent.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
Strong people skills, independent decision making, and customer service oriented.
Experience in maintenance and handiwork required.
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial and handiwork service.
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules, proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and cleaning solutions.
