Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares starters and desserts for mid-day meal as directed by menu.
Prepares alternate menu items during mid-day meal service
Prep LCS desserts and starters for next day mid-day meal service
Cleans assigned areas according to cleaning procedures and schedules.
Equipment and areas to be cleaned include flat top grill, microwave, deep fryer, refrigerators, prep-tables, etc.
Attends department meetings and in-service programs.
Follows department safety and sanitation procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor or dietary manager.
Must be compassionate and patient when serving residents and guests.
Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds and move intermittently throughout the day as well as stand most of the working day.
Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Previous dietary experience preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate (after training) the correct use of dietary equipment and food preperation.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and speak English; ability to take and understand verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate well with an elderly population.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense in understanding and carrying out instructions.
