ABOUT THE POSITION
We have an opening for an ETL Software Engineer to join our Technology Enablement team.
This is a great opportunity to be able to create solutions that will impact the markets that VHB serves including Transportation, Energy, and Real Estate.
We leverage the latest technologies and agile practices to engage our clients in creating innovative software solutions to overcome the ever-increasing complex challenges they are facing.
The software we create impacts the world in a variety of ways including helping to make the roads safer, providing a cleaner environment, and making resources more equitable available.
If you are driven to continuously improve your knowledge of technology and the software development process, you should look to join our team! This hybrid position could be located in any of our East Coast offices, but preference will be given to those who will work from our Orlando, FL office.
As part of an Agile Scrum team, the Software Engineer receives specific assignments to develop and apply state-of-the-art methods to create, design, and develop complex software programs, applications, and projects.
Responsibilities
Plans, conducts, and develops solutions to resolve complex technical problems.
Contributes to the building and integration of software applications.
Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies, writes, edits, and implements complex software applications.
Analyzes and defines software requirements to determine specifications and standards.
Proposes and implements standard software solutions.
Develops, designs, and edits original applications, or modifies third-party applications.
Documents procedures that were followed to develop an application or component of an application.
Serves as a technical leader for moderately complex software projects.
Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.
Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures.
Skills & Knowledge
Extensive experience and knowledge of development environments, frameworks, and languages, including the following:
C# and .
Net Core with Entity Framework
Azure DevOps and Jira
SSIS and SQL Server Management Studio
Experience with Agile Development practices
Git
Significant experience with relational database management systems, including MS SQL Server.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.
Skills and knowledge must be commensurate with required experience and job level.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years required, 5+ years preferred of software engineering experience
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent discipline
