Self-driven individual contributor performing full-stack software development supporting various control systems for attractions, live entertainment and interactive experiences across Disney properties and cruise ships.
Perform software engineering tasks including engineering analysis, testing, requirements validation, maintenance, inspection procedures and installation.
Successful candidate must be able to work with multiple collaborators and partners from all levels of the organization to determine data and requirements driven technical solutions.
This is a Full-Time Role.
What You Will Do
Assist or lead all avenues of the engineering process, including but not limited to: Investigation, Design, Development, Deployment, Integration, Close-out, Training, and Sustainment.
Create, develop, maintain, debug, document, and release software in multiple software languages.
Design and implement entertainment control systems for live shows and attractions.
Work as part of a creative team to build new venues and shows while bringing creative intent to fruition.
Implement design specifications for cybersecurity and networking compliance.
Integrate Safety Integrity Level (SIL) compliant safety solutions within a Programable Logic Controller (PLC environment.
Communicate clearly and concisely with multiple partners.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Ability to read, write, understand and translate multiple software languages (C, C++, C#, Python, Node JS, Structured Text).
Hands-on experience designing, coding, testing, debugging and deployment for large scale software solutions.
Experience developing custom graphical user interfaces and HMIs.
In-depth understanding of control system protocols.
Understanding of PLC software implementation.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose with little notice, while maintaining consistency with architectures in place.
Ability to prioritize and switch between different roles within this position, without degrading performance.
Ability to handle resourcing, budgets, and timelines against project milestones.
Must have a high tolerance for change and changing requirements.
Must have a valid passport or be able to acquire one and be willing to travel internationally for project work.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with show control hardware or software (AMX, Navigator, Beckhoff TwinCAT, V16, or similar devices).
5+ years of proven experience in the theme park and/or live entertainment domain.
Knowledge and experience integrating audio, video, lighting and automation systems with control software.
Familiarity with different show communication methodologies (MIDI, RS-232, DMX, sACN, Artnet, Posistagenet, etc).
Experience building system requirements based on scope definition.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, related field or 5+ years of professional software development experience.
