Dynamic Animation Systems, Inc.
(DAS) is seeking Software Engineers at all levels to become an integral part of our team conducting innovative software research and development on projects supporting US Army R&D objectives.
Projects involve the investigation and application of leading-edge methods to create/enhance modeling and simulation software technologies and fill training systems capability gaps.
These positions offer opportunities to work on front-end (i.
e.
GUI/Client apps) and/or back-end (i.
e.
server apps), as well as the interfaces between them (i.
e.
REST/gRPC APIs).
Efforts include all phases of the R&D software development life-cycle conducted using an Agile process, and make use of Java, C++, C#, JavaScript/frameworks, HTML, and other web-based technologies.
Additional efforts include forays into the application of AI/ML technologies to this domain.
*Responsibilities:*
* Analyze technology/capability gaps, research and develop software solutions.
* Work with project leads (or act as project lead, depending on level) to define sprints and associated deliverables.
* Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code.
* Conduct integration, test, bug fixes, and other software maintenance activities.
* Create technical documentation and user guides in support of developed software.
*Required Qualifications:*
*\*\*\*Must be a US Citizen with at least the eligibility to obtain a US DoD security clearance*
* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related STEM field w/demonstrated academic or work-related background in software development.
* Level-appropriate, applied experience: Entry/Junior: 0-4 yrs, Mid-Level: 4-7 yrs, Senior: 7+ yrs in Object-oriented software development using Agile methodologies and either Java, C++, or C#.
* Familiarity with:
– At least one of: Gitlab, Github, JIRA
– At least one of: Git, Subversion
– Networking concepts and protocols
– Windows and Linux operating systems
*Desired Qualifications:*
Level-appropriate applied experience (including internships for those with no post-grad applied work experience) in one or more of the following areas:
* Modeling and Simulation domain
* JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, Angular, or React
* Backend development work using Java, C++, or C#
* Application of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
* Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP)
* Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs)
* Developing and designing Domain Specific Languages (DSLs)
Candidates should be self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Preference for candidates with active DoD Security Clearance
