We are seeking a qualified, experienced candidate to support new project work with a primary focus on civil and structural design elements.
The Senior Civil / Structural Engineer is responsible for leading the design and analysis of civil and structural engineering products.
This individual will use their expertise in structural engineering principles and practices to develop innovative solutions for a wide range of projects, including support structures, pipe support, foundation, and enclosure design.
The Senior Civil / Structural Engineer will work closely with a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
This individual will also be responsible for mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers, as well as representing the company in meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Project Planning and Proposal Engineering: Prepare structural calculations determining dead, live, wind and seismic loads, to ensure proper sizing of structural members and foundations.
Collect, review, interpret, and integrate design requirements from customers, suppliers, and the parent company.
Prepare and review engineering technical requirements to support the overall project proposal and bid strategy.
Review customer specifications and prepare technical clarifications and deviations.
Prepare and review budgets, bids, technical requirements, and commercial requirements.
Plan and review deliverable schedules, including project documentation and equipment.
Work with suppliers to develop budgets and pricing estimates.
Ensure arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements.
Interface with internal and external teams to ensure that design interface information for structural commodities is accurate and properly accounted for.
Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformances and improve quality.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers Represent the company in meetings with clients and other stakeholders Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards *OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals Contribute to building a positive team spirit Communicate effectively with all levels of employees Travel - 10% 4.

*Education and/or Experience:* Bachelor Degree (BS) in Civil or Structural required.
Masters Degree and Licensed PE preferred.
A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience in structural engineering design with experience in gas turbine and auxiliary design, nuclear, or other foundation design for rotating equipment; Strong familiarity with OSHA, AISC, ACI, IBC and ASCE 7 design codes, industry standards and best practices for rotating equipment, such as familiarity with ASCE MOP 136, ACI 318, ACI 349, DIN 4024, ISO 1940; *Language Skills:* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; *Mathematical Skills:* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, thermodynamics, and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Fluent in MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat Writer, Excel, etc).
Knowledge of database, project management, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE DESIRED • SmartPlant 3D: Familiarity with concepts fundamental to creation of integrated design in a 3D environment and extraction of technical detail is desired.
STAAD / GT Strudl: Familiarity with Structural design tools is desired.
AutoCAD/Microstation: Familiarity with 2D CAD drafting tools is desired.
