Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Report to: Manager Software Development Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt Location: Central Florida Position Summary: The Senior Software Engineer with work with individual business owners such as Product Management, Channel Marketing, Engineering, Finance and Customer Operations.
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, full stack development of new features, software deployments, system integrations, and maintenance of custom developed applications as well as other Summit Broadband systems.
The Senior Software Engineer will follow and recommend changes to the software development lifecycle.
Job Description: Delivers information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions.
Develops software solutions by understanding the business needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
Follows and improves the software development lifecycle.
Documents solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments.
Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
Supports department and organization mission by completing results as needed.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: 7+ years of professional software development experience Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, REST APIs, and MS SQL or Oracle Application architecture and design patterns Experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, from conception, architecture definition, detailed design, scoping, planning, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance is preferred Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications Senior Software Engineer Qualifications / Skills: Analyzing information General programming skills Software design Software debugging Software documentation Software testing Problem solving Teamwork Software development fundamentals Software development process Software requirements Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
