Submit your application as soon as possible – don’t delay! Program Dates: Summer 2024: Approximately May 2024 – August 2024Fall 2024: Approximately September 2024 – December 2024 JOB SUMMARY: Intern will work on designing/engineering new attraction concepts with a team of designers and engineers.
Intern will collaborate with different trades involved in theme park design, overall design and engineering processes, research, documentation, and presentation of new ideas.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops ideas for ride and show systems and new attraction concepts alongside ride designers, engineers, and other related disciplines.
Generates 3D models as well as 2D CAD drawings or sketches as needed.
Research existing and new rides and attractions and compile data into informative presentations.
Assists with the development and validation of performance specifications for new attractions to help inform the design.
Performs hand calculations/finite element analysis as needed.
Supports prototyping/mock-up development.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
Minimum cumulative 2.
8 GPA is required.
An official transcript may be required upon request.
Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics.
Preferred coursework completed: Machine Design, Kinematics and GD&T.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to: Experience with solid modeling required.
Experience with SolidWorks or 3DSMax experience preferred.
Understanding of dynamic analysis and/or finite element analysis preferred.
Background in studio art or digital media preferred.
Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Superior written & verbal communication skills.
Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
Consistent attendance.
Please note the following: This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2024 or December 2024 to participate in the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 semester, respectively.
Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
