Program Dates: Summer 2024: Approximately May 2024 – August 2024 Fall 2024: Approximately September 2024 – December 2024 JOB SUMMARY: Intern will work alongside Universal Creative Show System team gaining knowledge, skills, and network opportunities working with Universal project teams.
In this role, the Intern will learn the overall project life cycle at Universal Creative and assist with install, testing, and commissioning of show equipment.
Intern will learn to balance engineering design with project budget, schedule, and creative intent to create incredible experiences for guests.
Intern will work alongside Vendors and Universal Engineers to gain valuable knowledge and skills in different phases of a project.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews install status of show equipment.
Assists with testing of show equipment.
Coordinates with various disciplines to troubleshoot problems and overcome challenges in the field.
Attends construction and equipment vendor meetings.
Reviews technical documents.
Reviews analysis of design documentation for computer hardware and software.
Participates in hands on implementation of computer hardware and software for prototypes or proofs of concept.
Analyzes of existing ride data to determine trends and troubleshoot.
Coordinates with various disciplines to troubleshoot problems and overcome challenges in the field.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
Minimum cumulative 2.
8 GPA is required.
An official transcript may be required upon request.
Preferred majors include: Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering.
Preferred coursework completed: Computer Programming, Digital Design, Electrical Programming, Controls Programming, Control Theory, Robotics.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to: Ability to understand and implement general engineering principles required.
Experience using Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other CAD, PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen Bradely) required.
Experience in engineering design, project management, and team leadership Experience in testing, troubleshooting, prototyping, and construction preferred.
Ability to understand and follow mechanical and electrical drawings preferred.
Ability to read schematics and willingness to troubleshoot electromechanical systems preferred.
Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Superior written & verbal communication skills.
Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams Consistent attendance.
Please note the following: This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2024 or December 2024 to participate in the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 semester, respectively.
Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
