JOB SUMMARY: Intern will assist in the conceptualization and execution of innovative restaurant projects.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of restaurant development, working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to market research, concept development, design, and project management processes.
Intern will learn the intricacies of turning restaurant concepts into thriving establishments, all while honing skills in market analysis, design collaboration, and project coordination.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts market research to identify emerging restaurant trends, demographics, and consumer preferences including industry trends, best practices, and innovations in restaurant development.
Analyzes competitor restaurants and compile reports on their strategies and offerings.
Assist in brainstorming and conceptualizing innovative restaurant ideas and themes with the creative team to develop unique concepts and branding.
Evaluates the financial viability of potential restaurant projects, including budget projections and cost analyses.
Works with chefs and culinary experts to create menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and target audience.
Supports the project manager in tracking project timelines, budgets, and milestones.
Coordinates and communicate with various teams involved in restaurant development to ensure seamless project execution.
Maintains detailed project documentation, including project plans, reports, and meeting notes.
Prepares progress reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Attends meetings with clients, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to gather insights and contribute ideas.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
Minimum cumulative 2.
8 GPA is required.
An official transcript may be required upon request.
Preferred majors include: Hospitality Management, Business Management, Project Management.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
Hospitality experience preferred.
Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Superior written & verbal communication skills.
Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
Consistent attendance.

This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2024 or December 2024 to participate in the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 semester, respectively.
Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
In addition to all of our internships being paid, you may be eligible for financial assistance towards housing if applicable.
