Program Dates: Summer 2024: Approximately May 2024 – August 2024 Fall 2024: Approximately September 2024 – December 2024 JOB SUMMARY: Intern will work with and support the Advanced Technology Team for development of platforms and R&D projects.
Intern will support development of Advanced Technology for testing and designing new Universal Creative attractions and park systems.
This involves utilization of game engines, communication systems and networking, electromechanical control systems, data analytics, AI development, physical construction, assisting in Program Management and creative development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in research and analysis of technologies including but not limited to software development, data analytics, hardware interfaces, research and prototype artificial intelligence, human computer interaction, prototyping engineering tools, computer games, and mixed reality.
Assists in the writing and development of scopes.
Develops and integrates technology (including mock-ups).
Participates in team review sessions.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
Minimum cumulative 2.
8 GPA is required.
An official transcript may be required upon request.
Preferred majors include: Technical Theater, Engineering, Computer Science, Art, Music Production, Scenic Design.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to: Experience in CAD/Solidworks, Arduino/Raspberry Pi and lab/project preferred.
Experience in low voltage electronics, scenic design, music/audio production, and/or theatrical lighting design preferred.
Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Superior written & verbal communication skills.
Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
Consistent attendance.
Please note the following: This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2024 or December 2024 to participate in the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 semester, respectively.
Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
