As a CAD Designer III at Falcon’s, you will be a key contributor to creating captivating and immersive experiences for entertainment venues, theme parks, attractions, and interactive exhibits.
Leveraging your expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, you will collaborate with a dynamic team of creatives, engineers, and project managers to bring imaginative concepts to life.
Your role will be pivotal in translating creative visions into detailed, precise, and technically sound designs that captivate and engage audiences.
Essential Functions: Creative Design Integration Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to interpret creative concepts, storyboards, and design briefs, translating them into detailed CAD models, layouts, and drawings that align with the project's thematic vision.
Immersive Environments Design and draft complex 3D models, layouts, and scenic elements that contribute to the creation of immersive and visually stunning environments, considering factors like sightlines, guest flow, and interactive elements.
Technical Precision Ensure accuracy and feasibility in designs, considering structural integrity, mechanical systems, material selection, and manufacturing processes to support the seamless realization of themed attractions.
Visualization and Presentation Create compelling visualizations, renderings, and animations to communicate design intent and concepts effectively to internal teams and clients.
Innovation and Problem Solving Propose innovative design solutions to technical challenges, combining a deep understanding of CAD software capabilities with creative problem-solving skills to enhance guest experiences.
Project Collaboration Collaborate closely with scenic designers, show producers, engineers, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of scenic and technical elements within the overall project scope.
Documentation Produce accurate and comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, fabrication details, and technical specifications.
Quality Assurance Conduct design reviews and analyses to ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and creative objectives.
Industry Trends Stay current with emerging technologies, design trends, and developments within the themed entertainment industry to contribute innovative ideas to project teams.
Mentorship and Leadership Provide guidance and mentorship to junior CAD designers, fostering their growth and development within the themed entertainment design realm.
Job Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Entertainment Engineering, or a related field.
Master's degree is a plus.
5-7 years of experience as a CAD Designer within the themed entertainment or related industry, with a portfolio showcasing experience in creating immersive environments.
Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar tools.
Experience in 3D modeling software (e.
g.
, SketchUp, Rhino) is advantageous.
Strong understanding of Revit and other BIM Management tools is preferred.
Strong understanding of scenic design principles, spatial layout, theming, and storytelling within the context of entertainment attractions.
Familiarity with safety regulations, industry standards, and codes relevant to themed entertainment design.
Exceptional creativity and a passion for bringing imaginative concepts to life in three-dimensional spaces.
Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to design accuracy and documentation.
