What You Will Do
The Costume Design & Development team is responsible for supporting the design and development for operational costumes which are utilized throughout Walt Disney Parks and Resorts both domestic and internationally.
This role interfaces daily with Designers, Costume Development Managers, Buyers, Clients and the Production Support Team as well as and varying levels of management within the Costuming Organization and Clients.
Assist Costume Development Managers and Designers with new design project related work, inclusive of attending fittings, production & vendor meetings, conducting research, and supporting presentations to partnering operational line of business teams
Assist in the development process for operational costumes, including but not limited to documentation systems, garment technical package creation, spec development, and coordinating sample reviews
Required Qualifications & Skills
Working knowledge of garment construction and textiles
Demonstrated strong analytical, financial, strategic thinking and project management skills
Proven planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task and meet quick deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience building positive inter-departmental relationships to achieve results
Computer proficiency in Excel as well as willingness to learn new programs
Trusted and respected team member that guides with integrity with the ability to handle/manage confidential information with discretion
Basic knowledge and curiosity about Walt Disney Parks and Resorts
Required Materials
Portfolio either PDF or link to website listed on resume
Education
Senior or recent graduate or graduate level student pursuing a degree in Business, Fashion Design, Merchandising, Costume Design, or related field
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando Florida area and have reliable transportation to/from work

The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025
