Job Description: Specialist, Configuration Management is a critical specialty engineering role that performs configuration management functions to establish consistency of product performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information.
The primary goal of this role is to maintain the integrity of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, and associated configuration information using established configuration processes and controls.
This role also provides on-demand support to various engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, and other tasking as required.

Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
Develop and modify Configuration Management processes and procedures and ensure that they are followed on projects Review and provide feedback on configuration and design aspects of documentation releases Analyze change notices to technical product documentation to determine the effect on programs Administer CM tools used to store, track and manage configuration items Support performing audits to ensure adherence to CM processes and procedures Management and administration of the source CAD data product data management Management of full product detail including engineering and manufacturing technical documentation Assist in training document management system users Participate in Continuous Improvement activities Actively participate in internal and customer audits Cross train with other functions within the department All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Must be a United States Citizen Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, math, science, IS or business and minimum 4 years of prior relevant configuration management experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior configuration related experience.
3+ years experience working with and thorough understanding of the principles of EIA-649 2+ years experience using CAD and PDM tools such as SolidWorks 1+ years experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools such as Costpoint Able to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives.
Preferred Additional Skills: CMPIC certification Working knowledge of the following: CMMi Costpoint ERP SolidWorks SharePoint Microsoft Office
