Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Orlando Transportation Group who, under the direction of a project manager, will prepare roadway design plans for FDOT, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, expressway authorities and other agencies.
The candidate will have the option to work remotely and therefore, should be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently but also enjoy working in a team environment.
Previous experience designing FDOT projects is preferred.
A typical day might include developing project designs and directing designers and CADD technicians to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategies.
Your Role: Working as part of a project team Coordination with project team members and subconsultants.
Designing roadway improvement and new construction projects, including resurfacing, reconstruction, widening, intersections, and interchanges.
Serving as Engineer of Record on roadway design projects.
Development of conventional and NextGen large format roadway plans Preparation of project design documentation, including typical section packages, pavement design reports, design exceptions and variations Computation of quantities and preparation of cost estimates Marketing and business development, including meeting with clients, developing design concepts, providing content for proposals, and preparing presentations.
Qualifications: 3-5 years of engineering experience, including roadway design and plans production Florida PE license, preferred Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering FDOT project experience Familiarity with the FDOT Design Manual (FDM), FDOT Standard Plans, and other roadway/highway design standards Proficient with OpenRoads Designer and FDOT Connect software Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communications skills About Tetra Tech Tetra Tech combines the resources of a global, multibillion-dollar company with local, client-focused delivery in more than 550 locations around the world.
