We are currently seeking dynamic and well-qualified candidate for a GIS Analyst role in our Information Systems and Services Division.
Under general direction, this is a professional technical position responsible for the design and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, mapping, quality assurance, analysis and application projects based on enterprise and customer specified requirements.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a Senior GIS Analyst or designee.
The position often serves as the technicial team lead on 9-1-1 GIS projects.
Representative Duties
Leads 9-1-1Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects under general direction.
Performs GIS analysis and mapping as assigned.
Develops and analyzes business requirements and designs, develops and tests new GIS data, processes and applications.
Analyses, troubleshoots, and improves existing GIS data, processes, and applications.
Designs and implements quality assurance processes.
Provides GIS support services to County management, staff, and 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points.
Supports and mentors other GIS staff.
May represent business units on the Orange County GIS Technical Committee.
Interacts regularly with other County agencies, local governments, and the private sector.
Process daily 9-1-1 GIS requests via the online portal.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the use and application of GIS data and technologies; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
A Master's degree or other high level degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Preferences
Experience with 9-1-1 GIS technologies, data, and systems for supporting next generation 9-1-1 GIS data models and structures.

Educational Requirements
