Job Summary: The FSO will oversee the day-to-day operations of a cleared facility including oversight of the personnel, information, and physical and security awareness disciplines.
Essential Job Functions: Provide expert knowledge in clearance processing, COMSEC program, visit certifications, document control, and physical security, including alarm response for controlled areas, IAW, the NISPOM, ICD's, and other applicable government security directives associated with both collateral and SCI security programs.
Make decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions with the ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences.
Must be able to interface with department management, engineering staff and customer reps to design and implement security measures.
Utilize NISPOM, and other program-specific security directives, when working issues.
Understand security classification processes and be able to make classification determinations based on customer requirements.
Prepare security plans outlining regulations and established procedures for all areas of the security department.
Coordinating with the corporate office, develop security education programs and conduct security training/briefings.
Required Skills:
Requires in-depth knowledge and experience (at least 5 years) of system(s) functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures
Solid understanding of current best practices for Information Assurance and System / Network Security
Familiarity with documentation and tools such as: NISPOM, DISA STIGs, DOD 8500 Series, NIST Special Publications (800-53, 800-37, etc.
); SNAC Guides, etc.
Communication skills: written, presentation and spoken
Quick comprehension and desire to continue growing and learning in the Information Assurance and Security Field
Understanding of SWFT, NISS, NBIS, ACCS, eFCL and DSS websites and applications.
Required Education/Experience: BS/BA Required; or equivalent job experience.
7 years of relevant work history in industrial, personnel and physical security is required.
Completion of DSS Academy FSO Course or equivalent training required.

Citizenship status with a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
