The Geospatial Software Innovations (GSI) group at ARA's office in Orlando, Florida is looking for dedicated, hard-working software engineers to work in the challenging area of modeling & simulation (M&S).
Orlando is the unsurpassed center of innovation and development for M&S in the defense contracting industry.

Our GSI group develops core enabling technologies for geospatial data processing.
This includes applications for synthetic environment generation—that is, creating information-rich digital twins of real world locations for simulation, analysis, insight, and planning.
A job with ARA's GSI group means a hybrid (remote and office) work schedule within an agile team environment, working on one or more M&S projects.
Projects are diverse in their technology requirements (different languages, frameworks, etc.
), team size, and duration.
They all center around challenging tool and algorithm development for our government and military customers and industry partners.
Projects can also be collaborative efforts with other groups and divisions of ARA, giving you broad exposure to other exciting science and engineering work happening around the company.
Mid- Level Software Engineer Requirements: Candidates selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a similar discipline (Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, Electrical Engineering, etc.
) along with 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
Note: If the degree isn’t in Computer Science, experience using and knowledge of computer science concepts must be clearly demonstrated.
Equivalent professional experience (11+ years) will be considered for talented candidates without a degree Ability to quickly understand existing code and enhance and build on an existing architecture Strong math skills and a solid understanding of algorithm design and optimization Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously as well as with large and small teams of programmers Staff Software Engineer Preference to applicants with one or more of the following: C/C++ and/or Python Familiarity with geospatial data formats and world coordinate systems Understanding of basic networking for multi-service applications Experience with network communications, especially REST Who is ARA?
