Our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club.
We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!
This role sits in the Operations & Integration organization within Disney Experiences (DX) Technology & Digital.
The QA Engineer will report to the
Manager, Technology for Data Analytics & Reporting.
This is an estimated 18-month project hire placement, with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do
Testing: Develop and complete test plans to validate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data, reporting and dashboards.
Perform data profiling and analysis to identify anomalies, outliers, and data quality issues.
Test Case Development: Design and implement test cases for data validation, including boundary testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
Ensure test cases cover functional, non-functional, and edge cases to enhance test coverage.
Build and maintain comprehensive test documentation.
Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts for data validation to increase efficiency and repeatability.
Implement and use testing frameworks for automated testing of data pipelines and workflows.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers and collaborators to understand data requirements and business rules.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues.
Data Governance: Contribute to the development and enforcement of data quality standards and best practices.
Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure compliance with data quality policies.
Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify data quality issues and performance bottlenecks.
Collaborate with engineers to optimize data processing and storage.
Design, monitor and maintain QA reports, critical metrics & quality trends for the internal data systems.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and analyze data quality issues, identifying root causes and collaborate with engineers to propose corrective actions.
Collaborate with development teams to implement permanent solutions to recurring issues.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data quality testing processes, methodologies, and results.
Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical partners.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Proven experience as a QA engineer for data and reporting / dashboard solutions.
A strong understanding of data management concepts, including data profiling, data mapping, and data integration.
This helps to identify and establish data quality checks and data quality issues.
Experience in performing data quality assessments which helps with identifying data inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and incompleteness in data products.
Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, trends in data, and data quality issues.
Proficiency in programming languages, such as SQL and Python helps write and automate common functional QA checks.
Experience with data testing tools and frameworks.
A strong attention to detail is essential to ensure the accuracy of the data and to identify data quality issues.
Ability to focus on continuous improvements which helps with identifying areas for improvement in data quality processes and workflows.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues, as well as identify the root cause of problems and collaborate to implement effective solutions.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
