Responsible for developing, implementing, improving and maintaining manufacturing processes by utilizing manufacturing methods such as DFM, DFT and Lean Manufacturing.
Individual will redefine, implement and maintain our internal ESD program.
Engage with R&D at early design stages to define the manufacturing process in parallel to the development, (process flow, tools, fixtures, documentation)
Position Summary
A senior member of the engineering staff who performs research, analysis, and design of communications systems involving troposcatter, microwave, satellite, HF, and VHF radio.
Responsible for system design, link budget calculations, and system deployment.
Works closely with program management, taking a lead role in providing at technical interface with customers.
Takes a senior role and assumes complete project responsibility and in some cases leads a team on a specific project.
Acts as a mentor and coaches engineering team members.
Can work independently within the group with little or no direct supervision.
Should have a strong interest in communications and RF technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops and writes technical specifications for systems/products and integration of products into equipment cabinets and shelters.
System design, which includes systems analysis, generation of system block diagrams, system inter-connect drawings, assembly drawings and knowledge of wire run list.
Works with mechanical engineers on packaging of cabinet mounted equipment, shelter mounted equipment, and integration and deployment of microwave antenna and tower systems.
Develops test plans and procedures.
Reviews and performs analysis on test data/reports to determine product suitability for system applications and/or needs for modification.
Leads or acts as a support team member, as assigned on major projects.
Participates in other related projects as assigned by management.

Competencies
At least ten years of experience with radio communications systems, specifically microwave radio and antennas systems, modems, data transmission standards and methods.
Must have experience in generating test procedures and working with technical publications specialists to generate system manuals.
Familiarity with environmental requirements & packaging techniques for systems is a plus.
Experience with over-the-horizon microwave (troposcatter) systems is a plus.
Travel
Must be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel.
Estimated travel is <10%.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
8-10 years of experience
Experience may be substituted in lieu of BSEE at company’s discretion
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be a U.
S.
Citizen or Permanent Resident due to contract requirements.
