JOB SUMMARY: Support the development of project scopes, schedules, and budget.
Manage multiple vendors and provide technical leadership.
Organize and establish effective project management, design decisions and deliverables.
Effectively manage project changes and eliminate challenges between Stakeholders in collaboration with the Manager, Project Engineering.
Develop technical solutions in a diverse assortment of venues and systems throughout Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) venues.
Provide guidance to various Stakeholders relating to best practices and compliance with UDX standards/specifications.
The Project Engineer will participate and possibly oversee verification and validation testing in support of the Manager, Project Engineering.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the design, production, fabrication, installation, focus, programming, commission, and turnover of systems for a venue.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to assigned project team.
Oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Promote intra-departmental and external partnerships.
Work with the Manager Project Engineering to develop documents and schedules for Capital and Expense Program.
Supports Scopes of Work (SOW), Request for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposals (RFP), Specifications, and/or other contractual documentation.
Provide updates to Senior Leadership, and stakeholders all levels including presentations and project progress reports.
Accountable for implementing policies and procedures that align with GAP’s mission, vision and charter.
Provide superior communication skills (Written and Verbal) with the ability to present clear, concise, and appropriate information at all levels of the UDX organization.
Support training of Systems including Design improvements, Document Changes, Bulletins, SharePoint, MAXIMO, PMWeb, etc.
Oversees contractor’s mock-up, prototype, and acceptance testing efforts to ensure final installed systems meet scope of work and contract specifications.
Review all improvements to insure they follow all applicable codes, regulations and standards including ISO, IEC, AISC, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, NEC, OSHA, NFPA, F24 and IEEE standards.
Support Subject Matter Experts in multiple disciplines for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or control systems.
Support the development and review FMEAs and Safety Risk Assessments for new and existing Venues and Scope of Work for contracts and projects.
Review designs and documentation from vendors/contractors ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and specifications.
Develop and conduct Acceptance Test Procedures for Venues.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in applicable technical field required.
Advanced degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years’ of experience in direct theme park specific technical/engineering roles required or similar experience in related technical field.
Significant vendor management experience.
3+ years of projects experience within the entertainment/theme park industry required.
Any experience in Theme park development, construction, show and ride systems design or fabrication is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Responsible for performing complex activities related to the continued design, development, implementation and acceptance tests for all Ride & Show control and software systems modification projects for increased reliability and operational improvements.
Some global travel may be required (less than 30%).
