We are currently seeking dynamic and well-qualified candidate for an Economic Development Program Coordinator role in our County Administration Office.
This position provides professional level support to the Economic Development Administrator and is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the County’s Economic Initiative/Development Program.
This includes performing advanced professional and administrative duties in the management, evaluation and analysis of economic development program/project agreements.
Work is performed with independent judgement under the general supervision of the Economic Development Administrator and is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports and results achieved.
Representative Duties Designs and administers economic development programs and initiatives.
Responds to economic development inquiries and requests for information from businesses, developers, prospects and other stakeholders.
Performs administrative duties, which include writing, researching and outreach tasks related to promoting economic development in Orange County.
Creates presentations and maintains Economic Development webpage and other communication material.
Creates and prepares Board agenda items, agreement contracts, contract amendments, task authorizations, purchase orders and change orders.
Performs program monitoring and compliance for programs funded by the economic development office.
Reviews compliance documents for agencies funded through the economic development office.
Develops and maintains procedures and database for contract administration, monitoring, and tracking of professional service and agreement contracts.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of various economic development programs and projects.
Serves as liaison and primary contact for international Consul General Offices and Sister City Program.
Serves on inter-departmental committees.
May serve on boards and committees for local economic development organizations and partners.
May represent the County at appropriate business and community activities and events.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience in community and economic development.
Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferences Experience in international economic development, foreign direct investment or foreign trade.
Experience with grants management and program monitoring and evaluation.
Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
