Position: Truck Driver Assistant

Vincent de Paul Orlando Thrift Stores Position: Truck Driver Assistant Job Description: Responsible for transporting packages and other goods from Donors, Donation Drives and Donation Bins to St.
Vincent de Paul Orlando Thrift Stores using one of our fleet trucks.
The duties include loading goods, using navigation tools to arrive at the right address to pick up items or deliver items.
Job Duties: · Be punctual for required work shifts.
· Communicate with the Donors, Voucher Recipients and Conferences regarding time frames by calling and updating.
· Complete Work Orders and Pick-Up Orders for assigned routes.
· Responsible for loading and unloading furniture located at the Donor's home, and business establishments.
· Handle donated goods with care and safety in mind.
· Check and inspect all furniture for any damage, empty all drawers.
Check for safety issues.
· Breakdown and set up furniture items based on SVDP Orlando standards and needs.
· Prioritized routes based upon zip code area, job size and complexity.
· Meet the safety, truck management and personal conduct expectations as outlined in the Driver’s Handbook.
· Able to lift 50 pounds by yourself and 100 pounds with assistance and tools.
· Willing to work cooperatively with the Trucking Team, Store Staff, and especially dock personnel.
· Communicate with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
· Capable of performing all job functions, reading, writing, computer, and smart phone usage, loading, and unloading trucks.
· Responsible for correctly filling out daily Driver’s paperwork, spreadsheet, and the scanning of these documents daily to SVDP Donation Coordinator.

Qualifications: • Previous experience in deliveries and driving experience a plus.
• Works well under pressure.
• Deadline and detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Follows direction.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays.
Compensation is $12.
50 - $13.
