Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip, including checking tire pressure, oil levels, and overall vehicle condition
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Plan and follow designated routes to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery details
Experience:
- Previous experience as a truck driver or in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is a plus
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, such as forklifts or cranes, is beneficial
- Experience with refrigerated trailers or tanker trucks is desirable
- Proficiency in driving vehicles with manual transmissions is required
Skills:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck being driven (e.
g.
, Class A or B)
- Ability to safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including delivery trucks, tractor-trailers, or tankers
- Strong understanding of route planning and navigation using GPS or maps
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload cargo as needed
