Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer or roll-off truck to transport materials or goods to and from specified destinations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement and adherence to safety regulations
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall mechanical condition
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues or concerns
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery details
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle being operated (e.
g.
, tanker endorsement for tanker trucks)
- Minimum of [X] years of experience driving tractor-trailers or roll-off trucks
- Proficient in operating vehicles with manual transmissions
- Strong knowledge of route driving and delivery procedures
- Ability to load and unload cargo using proper techniques
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Solid understanding of automotive repair and maintenance principles
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and any other required pre-employment tests
