Academic Advisors will communicate with Course Directors, Academic Coordinators, Academic Success, and Registrars regarding students’ grades, attendance, and schedules; maintain updated referrals/resources for students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete pertinent forms and advise students on all policies and procedures with regard to withdrawals, interruption of training, change of enrollment and education satisfactory progress matters;
Maintain the integrity of the policies and procedures; proactively communicate with students with low GPA or minimal class involvement;
Mentor, advise, meet with students on a first come, first serve basis and make appointments as necessary;
Begin processes of paperwork, such as: Withdrawal Forms, Interruption of Training, etc.

Meet with students and/or parents for advising;
Address complaints or suggestions;

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors Degree with emphasis on Social Work, Education, Psychology, Counseling or other related field strongly preferred.

Skills:
Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Good organizational and time-management skills
Good listening skills, assertiveness, and enthusiasm are required traits
Service orientation, actively looks for ways to help people
Hours:
Full-time 40 hours per week.
Schedule will vary.
Some nights or weekends may be required.
Environmental/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system.
May be subject to; bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
