The Opportunity The School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD), in the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for two, 9-month tenure-earning assistant professors in studio art foundations.
The anticipated start date is August 8, 2024.
Some of the principal duties required of this position include teaching a 3/3 course load, sustaining an active studio practice and exhibition record, active engagement in committee service, maintaining regular office hours, developing curriculum, and participating in campus and community life.
The successful candidate must have a promising exhibition record that demonstrates potential for national recognition.
The candidate should have a strong basis in foundations (2-D and 3-D design).

Minimum Qualifications: MFA (Master of Fine Arts or equivalent terminal degree) from an accredited institution.
Evidence of strong personal studio work.
A minimum of 1-year of teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates should be capable of designing and delivering foundation courses in 2-D and 3-D design.
Demonstrate outstanding design capabilities, strong grounding in formal design principles, creative problem solving, critical thinking, and critiquing skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Creative research with a strong basis in design with a preference for a specialization in either printmaking/book arts and/or ceramics.
