Bainbridge Academy is a Private School located in Oviedo, Florida that serves students with Learning Disabilities in grades K-12.
Our mission is to effectively educate students diagnosed with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia and Language Based Disorders using research-based, proven and innovative instructional methods in a stimulating environment.
Average class size is 3 to 6 students.
*Minimum Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree (Education, or somewhat related field).
* The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
* The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and administration.
* The ability to teach in small groups, or one-on-one with students.
* Create a classroom environment that develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills that are fundamental to effective communication.
* Possess effective classroom management skills as it relates to an effective learning environment, discipline, and assessment.
* Have the ability to be flexible in working with students at all levels.
* Have skills in human relations and conflict management.
*PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:*
*Essential Duties*
1.
Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
2.
Evaluate academic and social growth of students: keep appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary.
3.
Encourage students to think independently and to express original ideas.
4.
Evaluate each student's progress in meeting the course standards.
5.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
6.
Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning, health and attitude problems.
7.
Communicate with parents and school staff on student progress.
