JOB DESCRIPTION
The part-time instructor member is responsible for virtual teaching in the subject area of specialty (Counseling with specialization in Clinical Mental Health), preparing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work with clients presenting with a range of mental and emotional disorders, as well as to promote mental health and wellness.
As part of the job, it is expected that he or she can plan, organize, and teach in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives.
A part-time instructor contributes to the academic process of the institution through the participation in the development of curriculums, assessment, evaluation, research, peer mentoring and coaching, community service and advancement of the institution.
REQUIREMENTS:
Doctoral degree from a Counselor Education program, preferably a CACREP accredited program from a regionally accredited institution, or a doctoral degree in a related field (e.
g.
, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Educational Administration) AND to have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for at least a full academic year BEFORE July 1, 2013.
At least three (3) years of professional experience
Able to submit copy of academic transcripts, licenses, and/or certifications.
Proven leadership skills from your previous work experiences
Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written, bilingual a plus)
Experience as a successful virtual instructor
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Knowledge and experience in technical applications
Should be certified in the area that you will represent
