Interested in making $18 to $20 per hour?
We are looking for an experienced Tutor to join our team and provide one-on-one instruction to students in an after school tutoring program.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for teaching and be able to create a positive learning environment.
The Tutor will be responsible for helping students understand difficult concepts, developing lesson plans, and assessing student progress.
The successful candidate must also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.
While working with CogniTutor, LLC, you _choose your own working times _as a tutor.
What's more, you get the chance to receive more experience and a mentor who may be able to write a _letter of recommendation for your future endeavors_.
You will be an instructor or teacher to students, keep up your schedule on our calendar, and submit session reports with data after each session.
*The need is for tutoring in elementary science, reading, writing, and math at an elementary school after-care program.
* Specific schedule will be Monday through Friday from 845am to 1145am at the Duskin Ave location starting the week of November 13th for a duration of 10 weeks, minus the the week of Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at the end of December, and 1s week of January.
The other will be at the Kilington Way location Monday through Friday from 930am to 2pm or 830am to 11am.
Level 2 Background Check with the school system is required.
May require a 4-year degree or at least be in college for some of the positions available.
Responsibilities:
* Understand the subject matter and be able to explain it clearly.
* Be patient and understanding of the student's learning style.
* Be able to identify areas of difficulty for the student and provide appropriate guidance.
* Develop a personalized learning plan for each student.
* Provide feedback on the student's progress.
* Maintain a positive learning environment.
Potential tutors with CogniTutor must have:
* Reliable transportation
* Consistency with scheduling students
* GPA above a 3.

* Fluency in English language
* Flexibility to work afternoons and evenings – possibly mornings in some cases
* Willingness to travel up to 40 miles (tutors are independent contractors so we do not reimburse for travel; instead, a higher hourly rate is paid for time with a student dependent on how far the drive is)
