Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care to pediatric patients, including infants, toddlers, and children
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments
- Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses and injuries
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Prescribe medications and administer vaccinations
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families on health promotion and disease prevention
- Perform procedures such as IV infusions, wound care, and suture removal
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Strong knowledge of pediatric medicine, including growth and development milestones
- Proficiency in conducting physical examinations and assessments on pediatric patients
- Experience in providing primary care to infants, toddlers, and children
- Knowledge of common pediatric illnesses, injuries, and treatment options
- Familiarity with discharge planning and coordination of care for pediatric patients
- Ability to triage patients based on acuity level
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Durable Medical Equipment (DME) management for pediatric patients
- Proficiency in performing diagnostic evaluations for common pediatric conditions
- Knowledge of infant care practices, including breastfeeding support and newborn screenings
