The Clinical Reviewer is a Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement support position and is responsible for the accuracy and compliance of all clinical documentation for Residential services.
This position is responsible for proofreading, editing, and following up on all clinical documentation to ensure its compliance with Medicaid, COA, DCF, and other licensing and accreditation agencies affiliated with the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.
*EDUCATION* * Bachelor’s Degree in the field of human services or equivalent and two (2) plus years’ administrative experience in a child welfare of over behavioral services field; or any combination of training, education and experience which would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills.
* Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or equivalent Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.
*QUALIFICATIONS* * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems, including Word, Excel, and Outlook * Exceptional organization skills * Ability to work independently and as a team member * Be able to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all staff * Must be able to work within the philosophy of services to children and families consistent with the ministry and goals of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home * Be familiar with clinical and psychiatric documentation and billing * Must have sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics * Must have knowledge of best practice and regulatory compliance standards of the Agency for Health Care Administration, Department of Children and Family Services, Medicaid, Florida statutes, the Council on Accreditation, EAGLE and other licensing bodies *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* * Audits of all daily and weekly progress notes of direct care and clinical staff * Provides BHOS training to all new staff and refresher training to existing staff.
* Assists the Clinical Services department with training concerning billable documentation processes.
* Audits of all clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and notes * Ensuring all clinical documentation complies with internal and external standards (including Medicaid, DCF, COA, EAGLE, etc.
) * Assists Director of Utilization Management with tracking and auditing billable services and documentation * Maintains records of documentation deadlines and services, following up with staff as needed * Works with the Documentation Specialist and Records Specialist to prepare and implement all internal file reviews as well as analyzing and presenting the data from these reviews *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES* This job has no supervisory responsibilities _*Equal Employment Opportunity*_ _The Florida United Methodist Children's Home is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
