Charter Schools are a network of 8 PreK-12th grade schools for students with and without disabilities in Central Florida.

Job Summary: The charter speech therapist & SLP assistant is responsible for providing direct therapy services to UCP of Central Florida (UCP) students according to all local, state, and federal regulations.
The charter speech therapist & SLP Assistant reports to the school principal at each campus where services are rendered.
The speech therapist & SLP Assistant ensures all students under her/his care caseload receive a high-quality therapy program by optimizing each student’s abilities.
Job Responsibilities: Submits accurate and timely tracking logs on a weekly basis according to UCP guidelines.
Provides and monitors client coverage and turns in revised schedules on a weekly basis.
Ensures compliance of UCP Confidentiality and FERPA procedures for all client files and information on therapist caseload.
Effectively applies and adapts therapy sessions according to student’s needs and established goals.
This includes recognizing when the patient has received optimal benefit from therapy services.
Collects data on student achievement for the purpose of documenting activities, preparing reports and/or updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or daily notes Assists in trialing and obtaining assistive devices or equipment for individual students through purchase or loans for use at UCP and at home.
Consults with speech/language pathologist, teachers, etc.
for the purpose of developing plans for services.
Writes accurate and completes daily progress notes at the end of each session using UCP format, and update accountability forms at the end of each session as needed.
Attends Monthly Campus Therapy team meeting, SLPA meetings, and any other required meetings.
Performs before and/or after school duties as needed.
Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders Active SLPA license from the Florida Department of Health Florida Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology Preferred Experience: 1-year experience preferred in a pediatric population in an interdisciplinary setting (prefer a school setting)
