Job Description Summary: Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation.
Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas.
Supports multiple systems simultaneously, and provides leadership for large project efforts.
Provides support or lead activities related to change management and/or project management.
Provides mentoring for the development of less senior staff.
Job Specific Information: This position will be responsible for providing automation capabilities for deployment and ongoing management of the FedEx platform stack to improve availability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
This position requires a person with expert knowledge in automation, operating systems, hardware, networking, scripting, & troubleshooting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform support, maintenance, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation tooling infrastructure.
Automate various operating system processes and tasks related to configuration management, to include patching and OS hardening Work with internal technology owners to automate and standardize their platforms for deployment via server build tools.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus: Experience managing VMware environments to include VRealize Automation Experience supporting Puppet, SaltStack, or Ansible Experience with IaaS and Terraform Proficiency in architecting and deploying infrastructure technology solutions in large-scale environments Linux system administration experience Puppet, Python, Go, Ruby, PHP, Groovy, Shell, etc.
Git version control Agile/Scrum/SAFe Methodologies Advanced analytical problem-solving skills Domicile/Relocation: Plano, TX, Orlando, FL, Collierville, TN Remote Verbiage: The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Five (5) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.
Additional Information Salary Range Estimate: Monthly Salary: $7,764.
