For sale is a Vintage 1976 Rickenbacker 4001 bass guitar in the Jetglo Black color.
The Date of Manufacture code is PE which indicates it was made in May of 1976.
Serial number is 3616.
In being almost 50 years old, this Rick does have its share of blemishes and play wear, but nothing that effects the sound and playability of this bass.
It sounds like a Rickenbacker Bass should and it plays beautifully.
No repairs have ever been made to the body, neck, or headstock.
The guitar was recently taken to a luthier where the frets were leveled, crowned, & polished.
At the same time the truss rods and intonation were adjusted.
All electronic components in this guitar are original with the exception of the two output jacks which were replaced with Switchcraft Jacks.
The original strap buttons were replaced with Schaller Strap Locks.
This guitar comes with the original hard shell case which is beat up and also showing its age, but it still protects the guitar during transport as designed.
I'm throwing in a few pieces
of case candy such as a Rattlesnake TRS Stereo Cable and Splitter to use the Rick-O-Sound jack and get full stereo separation of the two pickups.
Also included is a truss rod tool, a vintage Rickenbacker guitar strap pad, and a hard to find Rickenbacker logo sticker.
I am asking $2950 for it but will consider reasonable offers.
