Hello, I have for sale a Maxon CP-9 Pro+ Compressor/Limiteris just about the perfect 'always on/transparent'compressor'.
It's a dbx 160x in a pedal, so you would expect it to be excellent, and it certainly is.
It will give you 30dB of clean boost at 1:1 and will squash at higher ratio/lower threshold settings.
But unlike a lot of compressors, it can do this without altering your tone or pumping.
It's also built very well on a quality through-hole PCB assembly, and not surface-mount components.
CP-9 Pro+ delivers all the compression without any undesirable tonal cost.
