The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) plays a critical role in driving the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes within the organization.
This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
The Manager of FP&A reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and collaborates closely with other departments to support strategic decision-making and ensure financial and operational goals are met.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead the annual budgeting process by coordinating with department heads to develop comprehensive budgets aligned with organizational objectives.
• Continuously refine and improve financial planning models and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide insights into business trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist the CFO in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
• Take a leadership role in the creation and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to identify emerging risks and opportunities • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives, investments, and projects.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities • Over the next 6-9 months continue legacy processes to deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports in Excel, while working with IT resources to migrate legacy reports to PowerBI.
• Working with CFO, undertake a review of reporting and budgeting solutions to implement in late 2024, early 2025.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities: • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or FP&A certification is a plus.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in financial planning and analysis roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and data analysis tools (e.
g.
, Excel, financial planning software).
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire audiences at all levels.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive insights and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Capability to interpret data from internal and external sources to measure success, evaluate tools and processes and predict trends.
• Effective communication skills in both written and oral formats • Strong collaborator, detail-oriented and can adjust and adapt to changing priorities.
