We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position directly contributes to the company’s success by ensuring efficient and effective fabrication shop operations including inventory, materials management, scheduling, and coordination of production projects.
As Operations Manager your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a job flow throughout the facility.
Your role involves coordinating various activities to ensure efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and timely delivery of products.
Team Management:
Member of local leadership team
Participation in weekly production and monthly finance meetings
Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employees' skills and knowledge.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Prepare and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor expenses, and implement strategies to optimize operational costs.
Analyze production data and financial reports to track performance, identify variances, and take corrective actions as needed.
Project planning including confirmation of orders for production.
Oversees inventory control and purchasing.
Scheduling of jobs and auditing sales orders for accuracy
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and increased productivity.
Customer Relationship Management:
Lead or participate in projects focused on enhancing operational efficiency and implementing new initiatives.
Collaborate with sales and sales support teams to understand customer requirements and deliver products on time.
Address customer concerns, resolve complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Maintain effective communication channels with customers, suppliers, and other departments.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in production and manufacturing.
Qualifications
7+ years relevant experience in construction, solid surfacing, or manufacturing of durable goods
Prior management experience leading a team in fabrication or construction preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time, navigating complex production schedules
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Working knowledge of ERP Systems such Microsoft’s Dynamics, NAV, or Business Central is a Plus
