Electrician/Generator Technician

We are looking for an experienced Electrician who also has mechanical knowledge related to small engines (residential generators) and some electrical code knowledge.
Your job will mostly involve installing Automatic Transfer Switches, emergency standby power generators and load management devices etc.
Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, applying electricians must have at least 2 years experience.
The ideal candidate will be able to install these units safely and efficiently with the team.
Responsibilities * Install electrical wiring from meter and/or ATS to generator * Install safety and distribution components (e.
g.
switches, resistors, breakers, panels etc.
) * Prepare and assemble conduits, pull 3 - 5 wires through extended lengths * Prevent breakdown of systems through inspection * Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units Skills * Proven experience as an electrician * Experience in residential and/or commercial electrical systems * Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.
g.
wire strippers, voltmeter etc.
) and electrical drawings * Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines * Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability * Excellent physical condition with required flexibility to work long shifts, lift heavy equipment and dig the occasional ditch * Diploma/Certificate in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician * Valid driver’s license Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.
