Description WORK HOURS: 6:30 AM TO 3:00 PM WITH STAND-BY HOURS Individuals in this position provide semi- and skilled labor in the Public Services Department.
Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position.
Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Operates dump truck and flatbed truck.
Works with and assists heavy equipment operator.
Operates heavy equipment on an as-needed basis.
Assists with installation and repair of stormwater sewer lines.
Assists with repair, removal, and installation of sidewalks and walkways.
Assists with forming, pouring, and finishing concrete.
Removes and repairs asphalt.
Performs regular routine maintenance and service of trucks and equipment.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High School graduation or GED equivalent is preferred.
Maintenance of a valid State of Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within 150 days of employment which meets requirements outlined in the cities personal rules and regulation manual with an acceptable driving history.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
