The Experience: Project Scopes: Each intern is assigned a specific project that contributes value to the Company.
Networking Opportunities: Interns have opportunities to build relationships with key stakeholders from across the business Development Workshops: We provide professional development opportunities that prepare you to transition into the workforce.
CSR: We team up with our Corporate Social Responsibility team to learn more about how CSR impacts our community.
Field Trip: Interns participate in a field trip to gain an understanding of manufacturing and product development.
Leadership Lunch: Interns gather for lunch with senior leaders for casual conversation, networking, and some Q&A.
Project Presentations: Interns will present an overview of their experience to a large group of leaders and peers at the end of the program.
What You’ll Be Doing: As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the Manufacturing Engineering Department to meet/exceed goals for safety, quality, cost, and availability.
To achieve this goal, you will perform activities such as process review, process optimization, and process standardization.
In addition, you will work with the department manager and interact with other departments to complete a process review/audit, process optimization, and create a controlled document development/revision that will ideally improve the efficiency by 10% or line throughput increase by 10% measured by Power BI Efficiency Report and Ignition Data What You’ll Learn: You will learn and participate in time studies, line/work balancing, line/fixture designing, cost calculations, ROI calculations, OEE calculations, and more.
You will gain skills in data collection, analyzing results, making proposals, and implementing proposed ideas with hands on training, collaboration with team members in departments such as Production, Automation Engineering, R&D Engineering, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Tooling.
The department manager will teach these skills, provide interactions with other depts and employees, and offer hands on training.

Holiday Pay: Interns receive pay for the holidays that fall within the duration of their program.

What We’re Looking For: Driven college students, or recent college graduates, with a major or degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
Determined go-getters who embrace challenges Passionate individuals that are eager to learn Knowledge, skills, and abilities in Microsoft Suites, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Automation, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks Selected candidates must be available to work fully on-site and full-time between June and August.
Other Job Functions: Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.
It is the responsibility of all Hunter employees to keep themselves and others safe.
Employees are required to complete all mandatory safety trainings, know Hunter’s safe work practices, use the appropriate personal protective equipment for the job, and immediately report all injuries, near misses and hazardous identifications to a Supervisor or the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Department.
Those employees who do not comply with safe work practices may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Employees in management positions have an even greater responsibility that includes modeling safe behavior, ensuring employees on the team are following all safe work practices and completing training, and taking part in injury/illness investigations.

Physical Demands: Ability to sit for extended periods of time to use the computer, to perform paperwork activities, to attend meetings, etc.
Intermittent walking to gain access to areas within the facility.
Ability to climb stairs to gain access to the upper-level work area.
Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer and to complete paperwork activities.
Visual acuity sufficient to use a computer and to read and complete written documents.
Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person.
Ability to bend, lift and carry books, files and office supplies and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment: Office setting with temperature controls.
