The Utilities Technician performs construction, maintenance, and repair projects relating to the Town of Oakland’s water, reclaimed water, and wastewater utility systems.
They will utilize skills acquired through experience and require more than usual physical strength and endurance; duties may include reading, maintaining, and repairing meters; assisting in the installation, repair, and replacement of water mains, fire hydrants, and other infrastructure; calculating water consumption; and interacting with citizens to address concerns.
The Utilities Technician works under the general supervision of a supervisor, receives oral and/or written instruction, and has work inspected frequently for completion.
