The manufacturing engineer position reports directly to the functional area manager in Orlando, FL.
small team within the OCC that focuses on the patterning and coating of optics.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Engineer responsible for production support of photolithography and thin film fabrication processes.
Provide technical guidance and support to optical operators to facilitate performance.
Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and increase yields.
Investigate root cause of failures/defects and implement corrective action to support continuous improvement.
Candidate will be responsible for the leading the non recurring effort (NRE) to establish production manufacturing/test plans, define processes, and to lead the teams activities for managing all tooling, manufacturing aids, and capital requirements and transition the NRE into production environment.
Development and sustaining of manufacturing processes per customers' alignment and resolution requirements.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor or Master degree in Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related discipline from an accredited college.
Skills and/or experience in manufacturing engineering technology.
Microsoft Office software experience.
Ability to obtain a U.
S.
Security Clearance.
#MFCPO Desired Skills: Breadth of skills and/or experience across multiple disciplines of manufacturing engineering is strongly desired.
Perform root cause analyses when non-conformance's and escapes are identified and deploy corrective and preventative actions.
Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
Ability to perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing and tooling procurement.
Candidates with robotics/automation specialization will have experience and skills in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI), and robotic automation.
Candidates with thin film coating specialization will have skills, experience and/or course work that includes the design, manufacturing, and metrology of optical thin film coatings.
Thin film coatings at Lockheed Martin are typically for UV/visible through IR applications, include broad band anti-flection (BBAR), high reflector, dichroic, and notch filters.
Other experiences desired includes vacuum systems, physical vapor deposition, sputtering systems, and advanced plasma sources.
Candidates with photolithography specialization will have experience and skills in photolithography, and/or associated metrology.
Experience with photolithography tools including coat/develop tracks, spinners, aligners, direct write, and steppers.
Familiarity with chemical safety and hygiene with strong preference on clean room processes and sustainment.
Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Confluence, MS Teams, etc).
Candidate should possess a proven track record of developing novel and successful solutions to complex technical issues.
Demonstrated small team leadership skills and foster communications with other production manufacturing teams.
