Job Description
Dozer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Dozer.
The Dozer Operator levels and scoops soil and controls the direction and angle of the equipment to move rocks and debris.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone, to grade specifications in construction and maintenance of earthwork structures, such as highways, streets, culverts, dikes, and temporary roads.
Perform rough and finish grade work to close specification control; moves levers, aligns machine, and reads depth gauge to regulate height and angle of blades to maintain grade
Grade land to specified slope to achieve proper drainage
Performs backfilling and grading operations to specified grade
Grade precisely spreading and mixing materials in order to prepare roadways, pads and other surfaces to precise grade, observing reference stakes, hand signals or GPS data, as required by project specifications
Uses instruments such as lasers and grade rods
Observes ground markings to protect underground structures and utilities
Read plans for job completion; grades to dimensions as specified by construction drawings, sketches, grade markers, and/or verbal instructions.
At least three (3) years heavy highway experience operating equipment such as bull dozers, loaders, backhoes, land clearing, logging, feller buncher, grapple, excavators, skid steer, graders and motor grades.
Job requires long periods of sitting.
Other duties as assigned.
Job requires occasionally lifting objects weighing over 40 lbs.
Requirements:
3 recent years’ experience working as a Motor Grader Operator
At least five (5) years as Heavy Equipment Operator
Active Driver license.
Must have a safety-first attitude.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
